Julia Poetain Braga earned both her Bachelor of Music (2018) and Master of Music (2023) degrees in Violin Performance from Duquesne University.
She performs regularly as a substitute and acting section violinist with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Richmond Symphony Orchestra (IN), Springfield Symphony Orchestra (OH), Lexington Philharmonic, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and the West Virginia Symphony.
In addition to her orchestral work, Julia is a core violinist of the Floral String Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to creative outreach concerts in community-centered spaces.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, sewing, being with family and friends, and cuddling her two cats, Luna and Tala.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Julia now resides in Cincinnati, OH.
